I am a writer and movement theater artist. The body is my anchor for processing my thinking, accessing the imagination, and grounding myself in a chaotic world. Rarely on the path of least resistance, I found strategies to get out of my own way. The journey started with self-defeating escape mechanisms—boys, booze, and other things. It evolved into sobriety, theater, and Mindfulness. And movement.
It is through the body that I write, teach, and remember who I am. Dance, theater and writing allow me to untangle from my small, ego self and enter states of being fueled by love and unobstructed by fear. It's an ongoing process.

Both Sides of Crazy by Rebecca VerNooy—a short book with a life-changing message.
This mini-memoir is for anyone who has wondered if they’re crazy—whose thinking has entangled or paralyzed them. VerNooy shares how she navigates the chaos of addictive thinking, impulsive acting, and the pursuit of purpose. She mines the past to revel in the present, comes home to the body to quiet the mind, and reminds us that we are the curators of our own lives.
